Steve looked up and saw 3 more cars than he should have in the spot that Jonathan parked. They both rushed into the building and Steve could distantly hear Joyce crying from joy as she hugged her son. Nancy was the only one that knew about his condition but she must have been too panicked to even seen him. Jonathan with Will in his arms and Nancy looking frantic. He was so out of it that he didn’t even register the headlights shining at him as Jonathan and Nancy rushed out of the car. He knew that he would have to eat something soon before he passed out or worse. With his insulin in the car and his car far away by the tracks, there was no way that he was going to make it. When he walked him he shakily pulled himself up by the arm of the couch and walked outside to get some fresh air. He was able to hold out until Hopper came in with El who was almost unconscious. So he forced himself to open his eyes even when the light hurt and he was more lightheaded than he should he. Even though it wasn’t his responsibility he wanted to make sure that Will and El got home safe. His hands were shaking slightly as the rest of the party were talking among themselves and Steve tried to focus on staying awake. He hadn’t eaten much and now he very much regretted it. So when they finally got back to Joyce’s house he was kind of on his last leg. He would usually try to keep some in his pocket like his sister had told him but he was too distracted with making sure that the kids at least made it out alive. Which is why he had forgotten to take his insulin out of the car before the whole ordeal. The kids has gotten home safely and that was all that really mattered to Steve.
